#Delhi #Girls #Enoughsaid #Truth

Here, truth unleashed by a person who has actually been there, done that – a Delhi girl who had all her ancestors living and dying on this very soil and, thus, who knows it the best hands down. I am sure people like Honey Singh or amateur video film makers, who have been living in a virtual world of envy and covetousness, and their blasphemous productions in terms of music or videos, which went viral online, have conveyed the message entirely wrong and have ended up giving out a message which only compares to BS.

The reason why they find this subject worthy enough to ponder on is a proof enough that they just cannot kick Delhi girls out of their “small town” mind, which fits nothing right except for regrets of not being able to match up.

Fact check: we laugh, not giggle, when we see all those extremely amateur videos describing us and our ways and we sincerely wish speedy recovery of all those behind the scenes!

Plot Twist: During our catchups with friends and family, we discuss how these feeble-minded fellas have no clue how they are imposing their seriously flawed opinions about Delhi girls on people absolute strangers to them. They actually appear aliens to us, with zero sense of environment, class and substance.

Here’s why Delhi girls pay no attention to the crap ‘migrants’ spill about them:

1.   For us, absence of acknowledging class measures to having no class. Blame it on your taste if you don’t know why we spend a lot.

2.   “Maine aape ae kamayi, mainu daddy ne ni ditti”. Living in the land of opportunities, we have inbred feelings regarding earning and spending, despite the fact that our dad is filthy rich.

3.   You call it blabbering, we call it communicating. We love to speak and this bears no business with any third person whatsoever.

4.   Being a trophy wife is for losers! A Delhi girl knows how to earn every inch of respect she gets.

5.   Being educated is a dream for you? We spare you for that. We have been living the best of our lives amongst technology, media, Internet and all other first-hand pleasures you could only ambition about.

6.   Polygamy. A serious misconception about Delhi girls among people who don’t belong here. If your partner dumped you for being incapable, you don’t have to air any of YOUR generalized misconception about us. May be you were a born loser; may be, you deserve a nag, a dictator or a robot – surely not anyone who uses her brain.

7.   Metro, traffic signals, driving, shopping alone, gym, clubs, cafés, weekends, outings - all are NOT a big deal for us. No, we are not scared of doing all this alone. Babysitters are for serious losers!

8.   Opportunistic - nice way to hide your incapability to match her and her standards.

9.   Outwardly outspoken and selfish: being in a relationship doesn’t make us any bonded labor. We have a life beyond the relationship; our friends. Difficult to digest for you? We have railways and flights plying back to your town every hour!

10. Attitude problem. Ohkay! This sounds li’l amateur to us. Ignoring you could have as a simple underlying implication as disliking you.

11. And to sum it all up, stop categorizing, please! Girls from Delhi smoke, drink, party all night, bed everyone, spend a lot, are impolite, are anti-social or are opportunistic are a few ideas people might have wrong implications about. Remember what Jacques Couture once said?

Welcome to a cosmopolitan city!

Have you ever heard us talk about paranoiacs from UP or behenji’s from Haryana? Yes. That. We hate being categorized on the filth someone else spills. Understood? #Kthanksbye

Footloose in Old Delhi

I surfed, I liked and I visited… all in one day! For once, I decided to get off my backside and head to the spot where the revelries are. Many yet to go to but I had to start from somewhere. So, here I am, all ecstatic, having roamed aimlessly in Old Delhi and for being able to take out one complete day for the same!
I have always wished to be off the hook in an unknown city; always dreamt of moving without purpose in a completely strange (of course, not a place devoid of human beings :P) place. I often feel jealous of my friends, who have a job which demands travelling. Though I wonder why they aren’t particularly excited about it but anyway, since I can’t cross the boundaries of the state every now and then, I decided to wander inside it.
Old Delhi, a place where three genres of people might get maximal pleasures — a foodie, a shopaholic and a photographer. I took my bestie, my mom, along with me. You anyway need an ATM close to you, don’t you? :)
We started our exploration from Jama Masjid, which is a huge mosque in a place gasping to breathe for space.

STATUTORY WARNING: You might as well skip a beat having taken a look at the whole huge area.

Surprisingly, they say that over 25K people can pray here at one time. Built by Shah Jahan, it took nearly 6 years to complete this mosque. I’ve always wished to catch hold of a time machine so as to go back in time and see all these crowned heads rule, especially the Mughal emperors.
Moving further, we went to Karim Hotels and Al-Jawahar, which are there right at the footsteps of Jama Masjid. Their kababs, rolls and gravy will certainly gratify your taste buds! Having savored the delicacies and getting some of them packed for people at home, we moved forward to Meena Bazar. Colloquially referred to as Thieves’ Market, I personally found it to be nothing but hype. Brushing past through it, we moved to Dariba Kalaan, followed by Kinari Bazar.
If you are one of those who love to indulge in silver or junk jewellery, this is the place for you. We could not resist ourselves from purchasing various knickknacks, including silver earrings, toe rings and a few bangles. Kinari Bazar is known for wedding stuff. So, if you are of an age approaching the so-called legitimate one to get married, my advice for you would be: NEVER go there with your parents, no matter how close and open you are with them!
After satiating our desire for junk jewellery, we headed to Chandni Chowk, where we had jalebis at ‘Old and Famous Shop’ and dahi bhalle at ‘Nataraj’. By now, we were all drained and exhausted, but the feeling of having walked past all the crowd puller places in Old Delhi was truly out of the world, for once, we saw Delhi like never before. Here are some of the memories that I managed to capture in my camera.

Ways of Our New House (Part I)

I suppose this must be happening with millions around and if that's the case, I would love to hear your stories too! Since we have just moved to a new place, getting adapted to the ways of our new house, the location and the people around is surely a task. And, we are obviously depending on a lot of people around us to help enhance our knowledge on things we never paid heed to before.

By the way, let me not miss this tremendously glorious opportunity to flaunt a bit about my new house and its oh-so-enviable location. Well, situated right in the heart of the capital, it seems as if all the ways to almost all the fabulous places in Delhi start right from my house. Nothing seems too far, as if these must-visit places have come home to take me by hand. For instance, I could never have thought of visiting Int’l Trade Fair on weekends because I was always turned down by first, the distance and second, the rush. Well, the second factor still remains the same, but no efforts seem to be that tiring when I know that Trade Fair is happening right in my backyard! *rolls eyes*

Moving on, living in the old house for about two decades, which is like my entire life, I still miss nothing that substantial about it. I know this might sound weird, but I am so mesmerized by my new abode, that zilch seems to fade in front of the old house’s beauty, except for the intangible part, i.e., the memories!

Moreover, here, we have found one more thing, or rather, a person, who has made us, my entire family, kind of used to it. Our NEW MAID. Well, I never thought, being in my old home, that I would ever dedicate an entire blog to my maid, but that’s how life is. It can treat you with nicest of surprises in weirdest of forms!
Our maid looks the similar, when at work
You would be thinking what about a maid, what extra can any maid do, how can one get used to a maid, etc. I’ll tell you more. This maid, a very cutesy Nepali woman, is not new to Delhi at all. She’s been living here for more than a decade. Her wrinkles have a lot to tell about the world she has conceptualized and her very innocent conceptions might very easily keep one glued to her for hours.

Always giving her 100 percent to the work, to the surprise of my almost every other relative, she would be the first to run for help, when any one in the family commands that. I could easily dedicate my entire post to her life story which is equally enigmatic, yet so so clear! For this, I might have to know her more and till then, I would wait to hear from my readers.
I have all the reasons on Earth for calling her that!
